While we love to beautify people’s landscapes and lawns, but we also want to bring beauty to the world in other places and ways. That’s why we decided to start a project with local high schools to set up murals on our building that face a busy street. We have seven garage doors that we don’t use on a wing of our building, so that opened up the opportunity to contact seven high schools to see if they’d be interested in the project if we provided them with all the materials they’d need and transport the materials.
All the garage doors except our functional white one is where the murals will go, each door is approximately 8×8 feet.
And for materials we went with 2 high quality plywood sheets, and a quart each of red, blue, yellow, and black paint, plus three quarts of white. We also plan on doing a clear protective sealant once we have all the mural returned before we frame them in place on the doors.
So far we’ve collected three murals (East High School, Roosevelt High School, and Dowling Catholic High School), and everything is looking amazing! We can’t wait to collect from Saydel, North, Lincoln, and Scavo!
